Trying to build a boathouse large enough for a Karve and Longship, high enough to make sure their masts would get through the entrance and strong enough to survive an attack by any monster.

Only problem, due to its size, corewood beams can't even support it all. Which means I need stone and iron to finish it.

Or perhaps the problem is that I'm thinking too large. :D

We are a group of 6 working on a big village. We already spent a week on flatten the area (thanks to the optimisation update on this ) and build the protection walls around it and started 4 towers in each corners. Behind this village will be a castle and in front a large port. We will have all type of buildings a village should have...A lot of fun so far but a lot of farming too!!

I have begun ruins restoration. Those villages dotted about make great forward bases. And trolls don't know how to respond to being shot with fire arrows from inside a derelict tower stolen from skeletons.

Tryin to work on tavern, done the bar, dining and smoking area,(alfresco) still in the pipeline are the motel rooms and basement winery

Would like to do a cool log cabin in the far north too

I've been designing a structure for my portals and now have started a new map to build a portal network. I've already designed my main base and will be rebuilding it on the new map once H&H is released.

Just messing around a bit and trying to build a castle on top of an obelisk. No mods or cheats. It's going pretty badly, lol. But it's keeping me occupied.

Built a castle in the swamp and im really proud of it, only downside is when a storm hits and the sea gets rough it floods the ground level of my castle, i wish the water would bounce off the stone walls since there's no gaps in the walls and floor, on the upside it's fun watching the mobs from black forest and swamp fight each other then i just run in and grab the loot

I started a new character on a new world; trying to build my first village with little-no terrain edits, but I'm not sure it'll work out.

With the new optimisation, should I have to worry about terrain edits?

About to take down Moder so I can make an Artisan table. Then it’s off to scout out locations to build a big base in the Plains biome. Gonna see if I can do my tower house better then last time XD

Working thru mountain biome now. And I have started planning my second fortress. I look forward to building this fort in the plains, for added challenge. Cant wait to begin my invasion to establish myself in my new stone castle! And of course no cheats or mods!

I have a shopkeeper and Elder altar next to each other, so I'm building a castle there. Both of them are in courtyard.

I have a huge castle I began to make on my original first world seed, I restarted the seed three times to get it look neat, it is on a small, but decent sized island, near a river, so I only had to dig one canal with water to have it fully be surrounded with it, and it is at height.

I am still far from finishing it, but I make process, on the side of castle there is an ocean where I already built a warehouse and dock/shipyard building, I got the part of a lighthouse done too, but the castle wil ldwarf all this once finished.

2 projects...

1) building an island base that incorporates a vendor

2) doing a play through with no portals and/or world hopping

Completed a base build where the only thing that can be (except by drakes) attacked is my veggiefarm, everything else is completely build over water. No more troll invasions that rearrange my base. Took quite some iron bars to get everything stable.

I always try to build my base where the most action is (where I can be attacked the most).

One of my biggest complaints about Minecraft was its lack of "menace".
