Chat SUCKS
The chat is terrible. You have to type /s everytime which is hard when you are fighting and need to call for help. Local only SUCKS. Just make chat global for the love of Oding.....this is miserable atm.

Vikings were known to talk in ALL CAPS, that's why they were considered so frightening. Oh, they murdered and pillaged a bit too.
On the more serious side, I agree that the chat is terrible. Me and my friends first tried the Steam voice chat, but we had issues so we switched to Discord which has been working flawlessly.

Worst is how it always highlights new messages on the corner of your screen, but the fade so fast and you're never facing the right way to actually read them.
