Why do ppl say Bio Mass and Furlings?
Why do ppl on the forum here make up different names for the creatures in the game? Is it so hard to read correctly?

My eyes dont good, so when I see something that resembles what was originally meant, I associate the two.
I also do this when it comes to pronunciation. If you dont pronounce it the first time to me, whatever I pronounce it as tends ot be how I pronounce it from time till ending. Even if the devs come on and tell me "You say it like THIS" I will still say it my way, just to have a giggle. This is often how I get murdered by devs, and my wife, who still insists you say Armadyl (From Runescape) like ARM-A-DILL. I will always pronounce it ARR-MAD-ILL.
I didnt even realize it was Bonemass till just now. I just assume something that green and nasty could be called either ways. Either way, I know what the fat, green, poison spewing guy that honestly needs a visit from the Ghostbusters is.

Well, i guess sometimes it comes down to whacky localization and re-translating that back into english.
Other than that, it's quite a delicate subject and i doubt this forum is the right place to discuss it. But i guess it comes down to ignorance and ego-issues, like it has always been the case since the beginning of humankind XD

You're seeing what happens to words in a language that get changed, People use slang, mnemonics or synonyms to help themselves navigate words. If enough people use it/accept it, then it becomes what everybody accepts. Sometimes it's because someone misunderstands a word in another language and it sticks, like calling people from the Netherlands "Dutch".

Maybe people play the game in their own language, then go to some english forum and talk about it. WIthout checking what things are called in english.

With made-up words or foreign concepts, it's natural for our brains to fill in something more familiar when we're typing them. It's Moder not Modor, Draugr not Drowger, longSHIP not longBOAT, etc. And then there's a wide variety of nicknames that are widely understood. Goblins, skeeters, and so on.
Honestly I'm more annoyed when I see "ppl" instead of "people." But that's just me, I'm old and cranky. Now get off my lawn.

I would say there are many reasons ranging from willful ignorance to language barriers with dozens of other possibilities in between. Why do ppl on the forum here make up different names for the creatures in the game? Is it so hard to read correctly?
A friend of mine calls the Lox "Lizard buffalo" and the Fulings he calls "green turds."
When asked why, he says "that's what they look like to me."
In any case sometimes it's funny "furlings" and sometimes it's just annoying "thinger."
Best to ignore the minor mistakes and only question what doesn't make sense.
