Heavy fog

Heavy fog

Is the heavy pea soup like fog linked to types of environments? I don't mean the ground stuff in the Black Forest, I mean the stuff that blots out the screen like a blizzard. I swear I never saw it much as my first village, but two out of the three plains locations I'm scouting I spent almost as much time feeling mostly blind as I did seeing what was around me. Is being to close to the sea a trigger for it?

Seems to be random, and very annoying. it doesnt add anything to the vibe of the game for me, its just obnoxious.

The plains near the ocean seem to be the main places I run into it, which is a shame cause I don't want to build far away from my docks again.

Hate when that happens when I want to clear a goblin village. Can't see a thing so I'm forced to kill time doing something else like forage for mushrooms or something.

I think its great for immersion. The only thing that could be changed is that the effect is not applied in player-built buildings that are considered sheltered.

I think this game profits a lot from weather effects etc. please add more they add a lot to the immersion. It would also make sense and would be interresting to have weather effects that change spawnining or enemy behaviour to some extent.

only thing i hate about it is the frequency. My expansion buble is miniscule simply because of that fact alone. Every time i set out on the ocean to explore i get massive storms, then heavy fog. Every. single. time. I swear, out of say, 25 to 30 hours spent trying to explore, maybe 3 were spent in good weather, or light rain. Immersion is one thing, but so much crappy weather just killed any more exploring i wish to do, and in doing so, killed the game for me.

The changing weather, the rain, the storm, the fog, the moon lit nights are a huge part of this games charm (to me).

For me as well. Random weather adds greatly to the level of unpredictability that is necessary to keep the risk factor in your face. Risks require planning and foresight. Without that it would be far too easy.

I know what you mean there has been a couple of times where it was literally pitch black on the ocean and I had to just row and watch the map to make sure there wasn't going to be land in front of me. The heavy fog you get where you can see in front of your boat like 10 feet is okay cause atleast you can see but the pitch black stuff is just as you said eternal herald, obnoxious

Nothing scarier than 2 Asian killer hornets suddenly appear at point blank in the fog!

That's some of the problem I'm having. I overall love the weather effects, but at this point I've barely even gotten to see much while sailing, making the entire thing largely just a boring tedious prospect for me. I want to see the ocean I'm on.
