Best equipment for plains ?

I currently have troll armor and goblins and mosqitos hit 70. I thought ıf I upgraded to bronze armor they would still be hitting like 50 something which is a lot. So here is the question iron or wolf fur armor ı really couldnt tell which I should prepare for an expedition to plains ?

So you're asking which has the higher armour rating? Answer...Wolf.
Both have the same movement penalty, but Wolf has the cold weather protection as a bonus.

The higher the better. I’d get at least wolf armor. Skeeters usually travels in 2s, I recommend and Atgeir for its AOE attack, also.

Save your iron, use your silver.

Even in fully upgraded padded armor I sneak around with my bow in the plains...especially at night. Use those huge boulders that litter the planes. Often (but not always) the Gobbies can't scale them, and they make great pedestals to scout from (or attack). Even if they can scale the boulder they need to seek out a spot where they can and it usually funnels them into a straight line. This buys you time and slows them down. Perfect for bow use.

Fully upgraded padded armor and (any)cape give you 100 armor. I read something about diminishing returns. But pretty sure if you have the option it's your best bet. Black metal shield, frostner, Iron pick and axe, Draugr fang bow, harpoon, Needle arrows. Lox pie, Serpent stew, and blood pudding. Give you like 9 stamina bars and 270 ish health

Fully upgraded Black Iron and its weapons, and a shield. Soon as you see a Deathsquito coming BLOCK, and then strike.

upgraded wolf armor would be ideally BIS till padded armor, iv been playing with iron armor testing it into the plains you just have to be on guard and ready to flee if its gets outta control, try to dodge fuling attacks if possibly and get that attack in before they swing back, have that portal/Bed near by in case you get slaughtered.

the best looking gear mix set imo is padded helm, iron chest, padded legs, no cape, it just looks badass gladiator style savageness

Make a Black metal shield asap then Porcupine then Padded armor helm first cause it looks the best hehe, have Bone Mass forsaken talent its an amazing "oh crap" button

oh and if your running and here a deathsquito coming you can jump to avoid its hit that will give you a second to equip a shield then block and smash it

silver gear works and make sure you have the resist to physical damage power and fire mead as well as health and stam. Use the best food ya got and lox meat at first.

No need to even block. Just one swing and you’re done.

To everyone recommending padded armour and black metal equipment. Read the opening post again and ask yourself, is this someone who has access to those materials right now? Have they defeated Moder?

They're in troll armour and want to know if they should make a set of iron or wolf armour.

Wolf is what you would be in for normal progression. Personally I would save the iron for a few choice things and then make padded armor with it when you can.. but as stated above you would need to farm stuff from the plains to make padded with iron.

Actually if I was trying to be careful and not die I would make bronze for the mountains rather than troll. You won't be stealthy in the mountains digging for silver,

I used troll in the mountains until i could make wolf. Troll has the benefits of better stealth and no movement penalty, making hopping around the mountain and ambushing drakes/wolves easier.

Also, off you fully dog out the silver veins, the only thing that can threaten you is a drake, so if you take the time to kill them first you can mine in peace. This is especially true if they stages are distracted by a golem (and thus also distracting the golem).
